Major shareholder and president Juergen Moeller, who developed his former company IDF GmbH to a worldwide leading company in interactive Infotrainment Systems, is a pioneer in the field of digital information- and communication systems for cruise ships.
First cruise line customer Hapag-Lloyd decided in 1998 to install a complete digital Infotainment system onboard MS Europa, followed by the installation on board the MS Hanseatic.
In 2002 a project for Cunards Queen Mary 2 was initiated, to install a complete redesigned Infotainment system. IDF was worldwide the first company in the cruise industry, who installed a complete digital network on board a cruise vessel.
The major product was the so called "Communication Infotainment Network" (CIN), which was installed also on board NCL's Pride of America and Pride of Hawaii.
A tight connection to the cruise industry as well as to the european yards is the base for developing solutions that absolutely fit the demands of this industry.
Since July, 1st 2007 IDF is re-opened by the former president Juergen Moeller as "Maritime Information Technologies | europe GmbH.
Todays focus is on the overall digital communication and information platforms for cruise vessels, mega yachts, river cruise vessels and standard cargo ships. |
